  • Doors Open Day at The King’s Buildings has returned, but this time in a new virtual format instead of our usual on-campus event. You can go behind-the-scenes to explore some of our research spaces, discover what our staff and students do, find out about the history of our buildings, and engage with a variety of interactive activities. You can also see inside the FloWave facility and watch some videos of the test tank in action.

  • We are pleased to announce that the FloWave Ocean Energy Research Facility is back up and running after the prolonged shutdown which was required to adhere to the Scottish Government’s COVID-19 lockdown guidelines. After implementation of rigorous control measures, including social distancing, we have welcomed clients back on site and restarted testing activities, and look forward to the upcoming test campaigns with both academic and commercial test clients.

  • FloWave will once again be demonstrating its role in the ocean energy industry as part of Doors Open Day on 29 September. Demonstrations will be running every half hour from 10am - 4pm and staff will be on hand to explain our work and the features of this impressive machine.

  • On Saturday 23rd September 2017 the FloWave Ocean Energy Research Facility will join the research facilities at the University of Edinburgh’s King’s Buildings campus in welcoming members of the public ‘behind closed doors’ for the annual ‘Doors Open Day’.

  • FloWave’s world-leading marine energy testing facility is to become a fully integrated part of the University of Edinburgh – ensuring its continuation as a global centre of excellence in wave and tidal technologies.
