Dr Thomas Davey is the principal experimental officer of the FloWave facility and the main coordinator for test programmes at the facility. He has an extensive track record in the testing of marine energy devices and has been working as part of FloWave since funding was first granted back in 2010.
After completing his PhD in the modelling of wave overtopping, he joined the Institute of Energy Systems as a postdoctoral research fellow. This led him to being a key member in the early development of the FloWave facility. Since the opening of FloWave he has made huge contributions toward marine energy both as the university’s main input to the EquiMar project and a key figure in the development of Wave Energy Scotland.
